A few things I commit to, whether or not you can independently verify them:
- Most of what I link to is something I've actually used myself, in the course of building the tools this site is about — and I say so directly when that's the case.
- On the rare page that isn't a personal-use recommendation — for example, a general gear guide built from research rather than my own purchases — I say that plainly, up front, instead of implying hands-on experience I don't have.
- Any paragraph containing an affiliate link will say so, in plain language, near the link — not just on this separate page.
- An affiliate relationship never changes my honest opinion of a product. If something didn't work well for me, I'll say that even if it has an affiliate program.
